Effective pest management is essential for ensuring healthy crop establishment and maximizing yields. Complex pest challenges during the early stages of plant growth require robust and fast-acting solutions. Insecticides that utilize multiple modes of action provide farmers and agricultural professionals with a comprehensive defense mechanism against destructive insect populations, minimizing crop damage and protecting the harvest value.
Imunit by BASF is an advanced insecticide formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC). It brings together two active ingredients to deliver fast, effective, and long-lasting control over tough insect populations.
Active Ingredients: Formulated with a precise combination of Teflubenzuron 75 g/L and Alphacypermethrin 75 g/L.
Dual Mode of Action: Functions through both contact and ingestion, attacking pests through two distinct biological pathways.
Exoskeleton Disruption: Teflubenzuron (IRAC Group 15) acts as a chitin biosynthesis inhibitor. It prevents the formation of a sturdy exoskeleton, causing pests to struggle during the molting process and disturbing their physical growth.
Nervous System Targeting: Alphacypermethrin (IRAC Group 3) induces hyper-depolarization within the neurons. This rapid influx of sodium ions overstimulates the pest's nervous system, leading to paralysis and eventual mortality.
Target Pests: Exceptionally effective against early-stage and complex pests, including Thrips, Tobacco Caterpillar (Spodoptera litura), and Fruit Borer (Helicoverpa armigera).
This dual-action insecticide is specifically recommended for commercial cultivation of chili, soybean, and tomato crops. For optimal field application in chili, the recommended dosage is 120 ml per acre, diluted in a water volume of 120 to 160 liters per acre. The product features a convenient Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI) of just 3 days for chili crops, providing growers with necessary flexibility during the picking season. Proper application ensures a safe takeoff for seedlings and excellent early crop establishment.
Integrating a multi-target insecticide into a seasonal crop protection program is a highly practical approach to managing difficult pest pressures. By simultaneously targeting both the physical development and the nervous system of insects, this formulation significantly reduces pest survival rates and aids in resistance management. Accessing reliable, scientifically backed chemical controls helps maintain clean fields, healthy plant canopies, and predictable operational outcomes for farming enterprises.
